John Dalzell

JOHN DALZELL

CHAIR
INDEPENDENT DIRECTOR

John Dalzell has accumulated over a 40-year period and through several significant property cycles a wide range of industry expertise, capability, and experience both locally and overseas.

For the past 10 years John has been one of three independent Directors at ICBC New Zealand Ltd. Through his company Silk Road Management, he has also undertaken different governance and specialist project directorship roles in property investment, finance, development, infrastructure, and construction at scale cross border with a particular focus on Australasia, South-East Asia and China based relationships, expertise, and capital.

John brings together innovative solutions to help deliver at both an entity and project level in country and within the region. In 2016, John was awarded the CoreNet Chief Executive of the Year in recognition of his leadership creating and successfully implementing a commercial strategy to catalyse $1.5 billion of property investment and development on Auckland's CBD waterfront. Over the space of 10-years and through various Local Government mergers John lead a team of private and public sector individuals working within a Public Private Partnership to master plan Auckland's Wynyard Quarter waterfront. The successful regeneration of the area through a carefully considered Implementation Plan achieved and international recognition.

KENYON CLARKE

DIRECTOR
INVESTMENT COMMITTEE CHAIR

Kenyon Clarke co-founded DUVAL in 2013. He is an experienced company director and property professional with 28 years of industry experience. He has completed over $1 billion of property and financing transactions as principal during his career. Kenyon was DUVAL's chief executive from 2013 to 2023 where approximately 1,350 homes and apartments have been delivered or were in delivery at the end of his tenure.

Kenyon is a director of Du Val Property Group Limited (DUVAL) and chair of the investment committee responsible for vetting and recommending new projects to DUVAL's board.

Outside of his work for DUVAL, Kenyon has an active involvement with other family investments and businesses and is a trustee of the Du Val Foundation, a registered charity established to improve the wellbeing of children within South Auckland. He is a keen supporter of Blues rugby and combat sports and has four children with his wife Charlotte.

Owen Culliney

OWEN CULLINEY

DIRECTOR

Owen Culliney's legal career has taken him from commercial property transactions to general practice, rural property, general counsel in the medico-legal space and partnership at a midsized Waikato firm. At this firm, Owen grew a corporate and commercial practice specialising in intellectual property and developed a bustling property division.

More recently, Owen is founding partner of the firm iClaw, a law firm based in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty where he focusses on M&A, corporate structures, and large-scale property development.

Owen has worked alongside the DUVAL team over the past 10 years and along with understanding the business intimately, brings to the board a wide range of governance and management skills.

Charlotte Clarke

CHARLOTTE CLARKE

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Charlotte Clarke stepped into the role of CEO at DUVAL in November 2023, after a decade of exceptional leadership as the company's Chief Operating Officer. With nearly 20 years of extensive experience in New Zealand's property industry, Charlotte's expertise spans Building, Property and Facilities Management, Sales and Marketing, and Property Development and Investment. Her multifaceted background and strategic vision have been instrumental in driving consistent and impressive results for DUVAL.

Under Charlotte's leadership, DUVAL has continued to flourish, achieving new milestones, and maintaining a strong performance across all sectors. Her commitment to excellence and her innovative approach have been key in steering the company towards sustained growth and success. Charlotte's ability to inspire and lead her team is reflected in the company's thriving portfolio and solid market position.

Beyond her professional achievements, Charlotte is the trustee and founder of the Du Val Foundation, an initiative dedicated to supporting children in need in South Auckland. Outside of work, Charlotte is a devoted mother of four, balancing her professional responsibilities with her family life. Her passion for community service, combined with her leadership in the property industry, makes Charlotte a remarkable figure at DUVAL, driving both business success and positive social impact.
